My Pregnancy! :)

A short 5 months ago I found out I was pregnant. It was a surprise but a blessing for the most part. At the beginning I didn’t know how I would be able to tell my parents or how to go about school and all that stuff. I am currently a junior in college and just recently turned 21. Of course I was not drinking or anything because my baby comes first, but I was keeping my pregnancy from everyone for a long time. I would give my friends the excuse that I was on acne medication and could not drink even one sip of alcohol. I was on acne medication, this is true, but I stopped when I found out I was pregnant.

Time was running out because everyone was becoming suspicious of me not drinking and avoiding hanging out with my friends, so it was time.  I had to tell my parents first of course but it was the toughest thing I had to do. My boyfriend and I told his mother first because she knew all my answers to telling my parents. I go to school at The University of Texas at Austin and so I traveled down to my hometown Laredo for my grandparents wedding anniversary and this was when I told my mom. She was thrilled at the fact that she was going to be a grandmother and offered to help me in order to continue school. I was relieved by this 🙂

I didn’t have the chance to tell my dad that weekend because I had to leave back to Austin and my dad was not home at the time when I told my mom. So I traveled to Laredo the following weekend and this was when my boyfriend and I told my Dad. Immediately once we got to my house I blurted it out! and my Dad was shocked, scared, afraid and worried for me. My boyfriend tried conforting my dad by telling him that he was going to stick by my side and that he has a job and we were going to start saving money for the baby’s expenses.

He was still not thrilled. My mom tried comforting him by joking around that it was about time they became grandparents, but he didn’t think it was too funny. He then had a short talk with my boyfriend and made him understand that life was going to change and it was going to be his responsibility to take of his daughter and his grand-daughter. My boyfriend and I were ready to hear what he had to say.

Anyways, after a couple of weeks my Dad had a change in heart and let me know he was supportive and that he was afraid for my future but he was always going to be there for me. This made me smile soo much 🙂 x1000000

My Dad then made a trip to Austin for business and stayed at my place during his stay. He was happy to see me and said my tummy was growing a lot and I looked pretty in my maternity clothes 🙂 I love him soo much 🙂

I am soo glad my mom and dad were on board for my baby. My brothers too and also my boyfriends mom. 🙂 On the other hand, the majorityy of my cousins are not too thrilled about my pregnancy. Of course it’s not healthy for an expecting mother to sweat the small stuff so I’ve been learning to deal with their ignorance 🙂 …Those people don’t matter anyways I always say.

So I know that I am going to have a baby girl and I have decided to name her Amber 🙂 Her fathers last name is Gonzalez so she will be Amber Lee Gonzalez 🙂 (still iffy on the middle name) well I’m still in the process but for now I love this name 🙂

I hope all expecting mothers out there overcome any difficulties they may encounter throughout their pregnancy because I know first hand how hard it may be sometimes.

Love,

April and Baby Amber Lee 🙂
